ASEAN Best Practices for Energy Efficient Buildings
City
Square Mall, Singapore’s first eco-mall, emerged as the first
runner up (in the New and Existing category) for Energy Efficiency and
Conservation Best Practices Competition for Energy Efficient Buildings. It is
the only retail mall in Singapore to clinch a place in this category’s
list of winners.

to integrate energy efficient practices in their buildings and projects.
FIABCI Prix d’Excellence
Awards 2011
CDL took double honors at the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence
Awards 2011 with 7 & 9
Tampines Grande emerging victorious in the Sustainable Development
Category and City
Square Mall clinching the first runner up position in the Retail
Category.
A cutting-edge, new generation green office, 7 & 9
Tampines Grande embraces the largest and most extensive use of solar
innovations in a commercial property in Singapore and is one of the pioneering
solar testbed projects under the Government’s Solar Capability Scheme
aimed at building up critical capabilities in Singapore’s solar
eco-system. Creating many other new benchmarks of green excellence, the
development is also the first commercial building to ingeniously integrate BIPV
Panels as part of the building façade and incorporating an innovative solar
air-conditioning system into a building that generates sufficient
air-conditioning for the Atrium. The property’s accomplishments not only
raises the bar for green building in Singapore, but importantly, it has helped
to build the industry’s green expertise and encouraged others to explore
more sustainable technologies.
City
Square Mall, Singapore’s first eco-mall is one of the largest
malls in Singapore with 700,000 square feet of gross retail space. Integrated
with a 49,000 square feet public park City Green, the mall is envisioned as a
miniature ‘town-centre’ which provides the perfect setting for the
community to meet, play and shop while acquiring an eco-learning experience.
City Square Mall clearly illustrates that with the right strategic
sustainability model, a mall can make good business sense while serving the
social interests of the community and conserving the
environment.
Conferred by a panel comprising the world’s top real
estate professionals and experts, the prestigious FIABCI Prix d'Excellence
Awards recognise projects of outstanding achievement and overall merit that best
embody excellence in all the real estate disciplines involved in its
creation.

Inaugural Singapore Property
Awards 2011
-
Winner, Sustainable Development Category
11
Tampines Concourse, the first Carbon Neutral® development in
Singapore and Asia Pacific, emerged the winner in the Sustainable Development
category in the Inaugural Singapore Property Awards 2011. As the first
CarbonNeutral® development in Singapore and Asia Pacific, 11 Tampines
Concourse is an outstanding example of a green development from start to finish.
It offers a total of about 108,000 square feet of office space across 3 storeys,
enhanced with eco-friendly features. In turning the development
CarbonNeutral®, carbon emissions were reduced to "net zero" by
offsetting the carbon emissions generated during the construction phase as well
as on an annual basis. This was accomplished through the purchase of carbon
credits which will fund carbon offsetting projects in Asia.
It was
also the first commercial development in Singapore to be constructed using a
wide range of recycled materials for its structural building components. Apart
from sustainable construction materials, other prominent green features in TC
include a natural day-lighting system to leverage on natural lighting in areas
such as the atrium and lift lobbies. All these energy saving features contribute
towards the lowering of the building’s carbon footprint.
