For more than a decade, we have remained steadfast to
developing and managing greener properties, as well as influencing our
stakeholders, striving to ensure that we apply eco-friendly practices throughout
all aspects of our business.
As a testament to the importance we place
on the environment, CDL currently invests between 2% and 5% of the construction
cost of a development on green design and features. The returns of this
investment are reflected in the reduced use of natural resources, financial
savings and even the possible increased capital value of the
development.
Moreover, through the implementation of green innovations
into CDL properties, we are also helping to develop the industry’s
expertise and capabilities in adopting sustainable solutions for our built
environment.
Since 2005, CDL has been supportive of the Green Mark
Scheme introduced by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) –
Singapore’s governing body for the built environment.
In 2008,
CDL was honoured to be the first and only developer accorded the inaugural BCA
Green Mark Champion Award and more recently in 2011, we became the first
developer to be accorded the prestigious BCA Green Mark Platinum Champion Award
in recognition of our sustained commitment towards CSR and outstanding track
record in environmental sustainability.
To-date, CDL is the most
decorated Green Mark private developer, exemplified by our extensive stable of
Green Mark projects, including the most number of Platinum properties –
the highest tier accorded for green buildings in Singapore.
