Internationally, CDL is also the first Singapore company recognised in all three of the world’s top sustainability benchmarks – The FTSE4Good Index Series, The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World and The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes.

CDL works closely with various organisations to promote CSR. We have been a founding committee member of Singapore Compact for CSR since its inception in 2005. Singapore Compact functions as a national society advocating CSR among the business community through awareness dialogues and workshops.

In September 2005, CDL was one of the founding Singapore signatories of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact to lend support to the advancement of responsible corporate citizenship in Singapore. CDL also had the honour of being one of the five founding members of the Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD) Singapore in 2012. The BCSD Singapore is a membership organisation comprised of leading local businesses and the regional arms of international companies, working with businesses locally to help foster economic development in harmony with environmental preservation and social development.

With a firm belief in the importance of engagement with the community, we have been responsive to the needs of the community by working closely with government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGO).

In 2012, CDL's Managing Director, Mr Kwek Leng Joo, was elected as the President of Singapore Compact for CSR. He aims to bring forward the CSR agenda in the Singapore business community and to groom a generation of civic minded young executives to champion CSR.
