Stemming from CDL’s conviction that strategic efforts for the community should extend beyond philanthropy, we have continued to employ a model of engaging our stakeholders beyond such acts of philanthropy, with employee volunteerism being a key driver.
City Sunshine Club (CSC), CDL’s staff volunteer programme was established in 1999 to nurture a spirit of voluntarism among staff and to cultivate an engaged workforce.
Through CSC, we provide our employees opportunities to engage meaningfully with community partners in providing support to the less fortunate through befriending, youth mentorship and sharing of expertise. In maintaining a culture of active volunteerism and dedicating time to helping those in need by engaging in a wide range of community programmes and events, we have achieved a total of 2,079 volunteer manhours, with employee participation rate of 74% in 2015.
"To light up the lives of the less fortunate by offering our friendship and to contribute towards making our society a better place."
- City Sunshine Club’s Mission
CDL embraces a synergistic strategy of collaborative ideas and resources, creating sustained and direct impact on the community so that the Company and the community can grow together. For over a decade, CDL has sustained our corporate volunteering culture through CSC, as employees have been engaging in various meaningful community involvement initiatives to help community partners and beneficiaries.
