Long before it became a mall, City Square Mall (CSM) was already a space for entertainment.
Generations of families flocked to New World Amusement Park (1923–1987) for its dazzling performances, lively rides and late-night shows. It was a place of first dates, family outings and festive gatherings that defined leisure in Singapore. Even as the landscape changed over the years, the essence of a family destination remained at its heart.
Today, CSM continues that tradition, refreshed and reimagined for a new era of shoppers and visitors.
Singapore’s First Eco-Mall
When CSM opened in 2009, it made history as Singapore’s first eco-mall, designed with sustainability in mind and built with green spaces at its core.
Families came not only for the shops and food, but for the chance to explore, learn and enjoy a healthy environment together. From eco-education activities to regular community programmes, the mall quickly became a hub that mixes leisure with learning.

A $50M Transformation (2023–2025)
Now, the story continues with a bold transformation. The ongoing $50 million revamp expands 26,000 square feet of space and breathes new energy into every corner.
Foodies will discover more, from revamped kiosks and local delights at Food Republic to the international flavours of the new Gastro Square. Families and youths will find fresh hubs for activities, complete with climbing nets, performance spaces and play zones.
Even the walls and floors carry meaning, with eco-upgrades like upcycled materials and sustainability-themed murals stretching across the mall.
A Fresh Chapter in Full Bloom
The makeover is more than physical. It’s designed to spark curiosity and joy at every turn. Shimmering sequin wall installations invite playful interaction. Rotating murals refresh the look with every season. Discovery zones encourage kids (and grown-ups) to learn through touch, play and imagination. These inspiring spaces are invitations to pause, explore and create memories together.
